The third NanoCarb Autumn Workshop took place online from the 29th of November to the 2nd of December 2021.
The training week started with a series of talks regarding In-vitro Diagnostics. The topic was covered by speakers from both the academic and industry sectors, such as Dr. Daniel Spencer (Head of Development at Ludger Ltd.), Mr. Samir Fostock (Head of Diagnostics at Attana AB), Dr. Pier Paolo Pompa (Head of the Nanobiointeractions & Nanodiagnostics Labs at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia), and Mr. Ngoc Duong Trinh (PhD student at RCSI).
On the second day, Ms. Helen Williamson, Director of Horizons Unleashed, led the third session of leadership framework and career development training. Dr. Jeanette Müller and Mr. Marco Cavallaro from accelopment Switzerland Ltd. hosted a session about funding opportunities and grant writing to provide ESRs with the tools and knowledge to identify relevant funding opportunities and maximise their chances to get funded.
On the third and fourth days, the ESRs presented the status of their research before receiving questions from the audience and exploring further synergies for the upcoming months. Moderated by the ESRs themselves, these sessions generated helpful input and insights that will help the ESRs in their own project.
The Supervisory and Management Board meetings took place on Thursday 9th of December, where representatives from each partner and the ESRs had the opportunity to discuss the next deadlines and milestones of the project that is headed towards its final year.
