Four NanoCarb ESRs took part in the 2019 European Researchers’ Night in Milan (IT) and Granada (ES). The European Researchers’ Night is a Europe-wide event involving over 300 cities in around 30 countries. The event is supported by the European Commission and promotes science, fun learning and research careers. It takes place every September since 2005.
At the EU Corner in the University of Milano-Bicocca , Gizem Erol and Jennifer Fernandez Alarcon from the Mario Negri Institute (ESRs 13 and 15) have asked people who were passing by a question related to their PhD thesis, e.g. in Jennifer’s case “What is Nanomedicine?”. This was an opportunity for them to explain their project to children and a lay audience from 10 to 60 years old, sometimes in Italian!
Midatech ESRs Patricia Schmidt Perez and Avelino Almeida Ferreira (ESRs 5 and 12) have also participated in the European Researchers’ Night in Granada, where they have notably learned about other nanoparticles-related projects.
We will make sure to continue to spread the word about glycoscience and nano-medicine in the next editions!
